I'm not sure where to begin. Things have been so busy with me - the life of a 3 year old is never easy, you know - that I've had zero time to update this blog, but so much has happened. Here's the quick summary, in executive, bullet-point format:
- I celebrated Passover with Grandma & Pop-pop
- I had a visit from my other Grandma
- I had a visit from my friend Adrian from Portland
- I kick butt at soccer - I'm almost done with my first set of soccer classes
- I'm learning the rules of baseball in preparation for my first day of t-ball, which is in -- wait, 2 years? are you kidding me? oh, well.
- My brother can almost walk - and he's amazing at pushing my old radio flyer cart
- My brother has teeth. This worries me to no end. I value my smooth, flawless skin.
I have so, so, so many pictures to upload, but I wanted to just show two quick videos. First is a ridiculous video of me, my dad and Pop-pop. These are some seriously old harmonicas we're playing - they belonged to my great-grandpa.
And second, I just wanted to give a quick tribute to my brother, who's trying so, so hard to learn how to walk. These are from the last couple of months. He's like days away!!
Spencer.
PS, I came home today and told my dad that we need to donate to NPR. It's official - I'm a San Francisco toddler, I already know we have to support public radio.

I's Married Now!
Channeling my inner Oprah Winfrey (Answer: The Color Purple). No, silly, I'm not actually married, but me and my parents and my little brother Drew just got back from Costa Rica where my Aunt Belinda got married! Congratulations to her and my now-Uncle Marc!

One recommendation for those of you who might be considering a beach wedding in Central America: check the tide charts before making your wedding schedule!

I've never seen such a nimble rabbi.
I, of course, had a marquee role in the wedding ceremony - that of Chief Ringbearing Officer.

And have you ever seen such an amazing sunset?

Other than the wedding, we had a great time in Costa Rica - even better than last year. Mainly because this time I had my little brother on the outside of Mommy instead of the insider of her. Here's a decent picture of our family on the beach.

We saw soooo many animals in Costa Rica. We saw hummingbirds...

We saw lots and lots of frogs, including this pair - how nice that one of them is giving a piggyback (froggyback?) ride to the other? Not sure why my parents were talking about ordering a pizza when they saw them though.

And we saw a lot of Agoutis. An Agouti is like a big rat, and they're all over the jungle.

I came up with an awesome joke about Agoutis.
How many shoes does an Agouti have?
Two.
Why two?
Because it's Agouti Two-Shoes!
We did a heck of a lot of hiking - daytime and nighttime. Well, by we of course I mean my mom and dad did a lot of hiking and Drew and I did a lot of sitting on their backs. Check me out on a hanging bridge over the Monteverde Cloud Forest canopy! Very cool view.

I was really sad that I missed a day of soccer practice while I was away, but a couple of times I headed out to el soccer pitch and kicked the old ball around. I think I'm actually a pretty good soccer player. Check out my leg form!

And my brother Drew was a lot of fun to be with. More to the point, he was a lot of fun to play with, without him actually knowing I was playing with him.

And he's a really, really happy and giggly brother.

And he loves the beach, just like I do! Here I am with my Mom and Drew...

So that's the quick and dirty on our vacation to CR. I loved it, but please, Mom and Dad, take me somewhere different next year! There ARE other places in the world, you know!

Love,
Spencer

Happy New Year! And Happy Birthday to Spencer!
That's right. I'm one-two-three years old as of yesterday! And it feels GREAT to be finally rid of the terrible twos. Bring on the terrible threes! I mean terrific. And terrible. I can't let my parents off that easy.
I'm just going to post a few photos today to update you all on my goings-on since my last post, which was WAY too long ago, as seems to be the case lately. You wouldn't believe how much time it takes to harrass my dad and mom to take care of my little brother Drew (who just turned 7 months old and is doing a fantastic army crawl, and is ALMOST doing something approaching an actual crawl!). So fewer blog posts, but more excitement.
So first the update on Drew. He's eating food, finally...that is, food that hasn't been pre-processed by my mom (but has been pre-processed by Earth's Best, at least I hope so). And he appears to love it. Here are some pictures from the early days of food for him, around Dec. 19th.

And this one's from just a few days ago - Pop-pop fed Drew!

He's also an exceptionally cute kid, especially given that people say he looks just like I did when I was his age. Which means as he grows older he'll be a toddler Adonis, just like me. Does that make me a toddonis?

But one thing about him I don't get - what's up with the triangle tongue?

He may be part snake. I'm not sure. If he ever tries to squeeze me I'll make boots out of him and sell him to Manolo Blahnik.
Did I mention I had a birthday just yesterday? I had the best party ever! We painted some wooden animals, and someone came to make balloon animals, and we had bagels and lox and cream cheese (my favorite!), and then we decorated yummy mini- cupcakes, and I had a bunch of friends over to celebrate with me. It was sooo much fun!
Here I am blowing out the candle on my cupcake!

And here's a pretty bad picture of the gang...but it gives you an idea of how we were totally at capacity for our as-yet-unfinished media room - I don't think we could have fit even one more friend in there!

And here I am with my Mom as the party was winding down. Let the "awwwww"s begin.

And then later that afternoon, all the Weinberg men sat down to watch the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets take down the Patriots. I'm not a Jets fan, it's just that the Jets are easy to spell.

Normally we have a little couch in that room, but the toddler chairs were way more comfortable. For me and Drew...maybe not for daddy and Pop-pop.
Just wanted to close with a good picture of me and my brother, who I have admitted on several occasions that I love alot.

Here's to a fantastic 2011 filled with great memories!
Love,
Spencer

Go Giants!!
Ok, Ok, so in the past I've noted my allegiance to the Yankees (sorry mom). You can't blame a kid for supporting his home town team! Especially since my favorite color is orange...and I'm told that the Giants are orange, so that makes them ok in my book. I decided NOT to go out and smash storefronts in celebration tonight. I'll leave that to the Oakland fans. Ba-bing!
So yesterday was Halloween, and I was pretty much the only kid in town not dressed as Buster Posey (who, today, I declared that "I like"). Neither was Drew. But we made a mean Monkey / Ladybug combo. Yes, I was a ladybug. Stop snickering. Can't a toddler be sensitive and metrosexual?

OMG before I get into my exclusive toddler election predictions, I have to show a few of the latest pictures of me and my brother Drew. We TOTALLY love our little chairs. Although sometimes he needs a bit of brotherly help...

Isn't my brother the cutest little play toy? I can't wait to steal his girlfriends when we're in our early 20s.

And he even loves the same toys that I did when I was a baby! Here's Drew with Bogawowee the lizard, one of my old favorites.

Seriously, I really do like this kid.

OK, enough about Drew. Big news from the past month or so is my popop's 65th birthday. We headed down to LA for a big dinner celebration with the family, including of course my cousins! It's always a party down in LA. We're like toddler swingers, minus the martinis, but similar intellect.
I got to listen to my cousin Sam's ipod, using his earphones. Joke's on him - I've never used a q-tip once, my ears must be mad waxy.

And we had a big dance party. I'll have video of that later, but it was so much fun. For some reason my 6 to 9 year old cousins are infatuated with Bon Jovi - we did "living on a prayer" like 5 times. What does that even mean? Who lives on a prayer? Makes no sense to me.

Here's the whole fam.

Some news on me - these days I pretty much demand that I dress myself. I can even almost put on my diaper...although my dad does tell me that if I'm able put on my own diaper I shouldn't be using a diaper. Wise words, but it's so much easier this way. But clearly sometimes it can be a bit confusing...

OK, so election predictions. I think I'm pretty safe here in California. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to wake up Wednesday morning and there are going to be some clinically insane people in congress. Roughly 50% of new Senators may be in need of Prozac, and 50% of those will need a double dose. Why are people voting for these crazy people? I have a note to Delaware: If you elect that loon O'Donnell who keeps moaning on about Obama wanting to redistribute wealth I'll spend the rest of my life making sure Delaware gets redistributed to Pennsylvania and Maryland. One of these days I'll show you Spencer's guide to the way the state maps should be drawn. Preview: One Dakota, Montanaho, Rhodeticut, and San Francisco as its own state. Oh, and yes, no more Delaware.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only reasonable, sane toddler out there.
But the prediction? As Clubber Lang said in Rocky 3: Pain.
I'll leave you with a couple of my favorite Spencer arthouse shots.

Hold your breath for tomorrow people. Could be a prelude to President Palin 2012. Glurp. I just threw up a little in my mouth.
Love,
Spencer
